breastfeedin'

Before giving birth, I always knew that I would breastfeed and I wanted to. I had so much anxiety the first time he latched at the hospital, but I've never once regretted my decision or dedication to breastfeeding. We had some obstacles in the way (excruciating pain, bloody cracked nipples, embarrassing let downs, completely soaked shirts, nipple shields, minor tongue-tie, and lopsided boobs, to name a few), but I wouldn't dream of anything else. After the hard part and getting used to it, the benefits are not only rewarding, but they outweigh all of my past struggles. I even wet nursed for my sister when she went back to work at 2 weeks postpartum, so I was tandem nursing my son and niece (they're 4 months apart) for awhile there, too. I don't nurse with a cover, and I nurse freely and comfortably wherever I go. I don't think twice about it, and I'll stop when my son is ready to stop.
